No matter how many times you have been surrounded by people, in a
\nmoment you feel the great necessity: being alone, Then you run, from
\nthe place you are at to another one, where you can be all by yourself,
\nyou seat at an imaginary garden and hear the music: it’s Mozart, again
\nMozart always Mozart, forever and ever Mozart. There, in that mystic
\nplace you see again the beautiful face of the woman you once loved
\nvery much, and wishes to see her again, even if it is for only once
\nmore. An you feel as you have not felt before, the pain for lost
\nlove’s labours.<\/p>\n
Being alone is not the same as feeling alone. Feeling
\nalone or lonesome, can be tolerated well enough; the other, may be
\nyes, maybe not. Feeling alone in the street, you enter a commercial
\ncenter, and instantly the heat of so many bodies overwhelms you. If
\nyou don\u2019t know what loneliness really is, go to a train station and
\nwatch the train go away. Then, look to your surroundings and see the
\nfaces around you. Then you\u2019ll know exactly what being alone means,
\nand the sensation of death impregnating the air you\u0155e breathing.<\/p>\n
So, my dear old friend and occasional reader, next time you feel
\nalone because you were left alone at your house watching for possible
\nthieves, do yourself a big favor: go out of the house, walk to the
\ncaf\u00e9 next corner, there you surely will find a nice hirl your age –
\nshe happens to live next door to you, ask her if you can sit there,
\nright near her. She would say yes, you can. Then you start talking,
\nIn a while you\u2019ll be lovers, right away, there and then and at the
\ntable. Yes? Can it happen that way? Of course not – but what the hell,
\nto dream cost nothing.<\/p>\n
